Wedding Wednesday… Kristin & Rick

Kristin and Rick’s wedding was set on the gorgeous grounds of The Farmington Club in Farmington, Connecticut and was filled with so many fun details. Using gorgeous charcoals, champagnes and blushes and mixing them with metallics and chevron, a romantic color story mixed with modern details. Mercury glass votive holders, silver frames for the guest book, chevron favor tags, chevron table trays, acrylic table numbers and glass vases for the centerpieces were just some of the gorgeous details that complimented the champagne linens and soft neutrals throughout the room.  And we can’t forget the fun ombre cake! The entire night was such a joy to be a part of and was captured so wonderfully by Leila Brewster Photography. Congrats to the happy couple, Kristin and Rick!

Wedding Wednesday… Kerry & Rob

Kerry and Rob’s wedding was set on the gorgeous grounds of the Jonathan Edwards Winery in North Stonington, Connecticut and was filled with so many delightful details. They wanted their big day to feel personal with rustic details mixing with a classic color story. Using gorgeous reds and blues such as Navy and French Blue, color abounded everywhere guests turned. The dark wood chivari chairs and farmhouse tables paired with blue and natural colored linens looked gorgeous together and the bright floral centerpieces really topped off the table arrangements. All of the signage, from the slate table numbers and menus to the window panes for the escort cards and wood directional signs, really added the rustic touches to the entire day. Even the favors were adorable with chocolate covered raspberries packaged up in muslin bags! The entire night was such a joy to be a part of and was captured so wonderfully by Anna Sawin Photography. Congrats to the happy couple, Kerry and Rob!

Wedding Wednesday… Hotel Welcome Gift Bags

(1/2/3/4/5/6)

The hotel room blocks are booked and the rsvps are coming in; so now what? Time to get those hotel welcome gift bags together! I had so much fun rounding up local goodies with my mom and sister for my guests’ welcome bags. You can go big or small with this idea but the point of them is to make your guests feel welcomed to their hotel room and your wedding weekend. For most, this will be the first thing they see (besides the invitations!) that is part of your wedding so make it fun and personal! Here are some handy items to include:

  • A welcome note! Extra points if it is handwritten.
  • Local map of the area
  • Festivities card (rehearsal dinner, wedding and brunch details)
  • Transportation card (if you are providing any to and from hotels)
  • Water
  • Any local beverages that highlight the area (think wine, craft beer, tea, coffee, etc)
  • Gum or mints
  • Baked goods or candies that highlight the area or perhaps are some of your favorites!
  • Ibuprofen (or any other pain relievers)
  • Local tourist magazine or brochures
  • Anything else that screams the two of you!

Wedding Wednesday… Marissa & Brian

Marissa and Brian’s wedding was one for the books! Set on the stunning grounds of Mount Hope Farm in Bristol, Rhode Island, the wedding day hosted spectacular views of the historic landscape and was the perfect place for a mid-autumn affair. Using gorgeous marigolds, yellows, soft peaches and creamy whites, a feeling of relaxed elegance was created throughout the decor. After the gorgeous ceremony out on the lawn, guest made their way to the sail cloth tented reception where they were treated to a vintage lounge, complete with an emerald green velvet couch! The escort cards were hung between two ladders, and replaced by polaroid pictures throughout the night. The reception tables donned lovely yellow and white floral linens, ivory china, and the most amazing florals you ever did see, evoking a vintage elegance of times gone by. The entire night was such a joy to be a part of and was captured so wonderfully by Michelle Gardella Photography. Congrats to the happy couple, Marissa and Brian! You two looked so stunning!
