Wedding Wednesday… Cocktail Attire

One of the most fun and simple ways to bring in some personality and design into your wedding is with a signature drink cocktail or a festive bar. It’s also a relatively budget friendly detail with a huge impact. Love it.

A trend that we hope never leaves is the mason jar. We love using fun containers for your cocktails and a mason jar adds such a fun design statement, whether you’re having a rustic chic or oceanside affair.

Glass dispensers are one of the best ways to display your cocktail choices. It’s also a great way to tie in any details such as rustic twine and colorful drink signs!

If you have access to some funky shaped glasses, grab them! Your guests will feel extra special holding a fancy style champagne flute or some fun shaped tumblers.

One of the most unique ways to incorporate some flavor into your big day is by serving popsicles! Why not? Infuse a little signature cocktail into your popsicle and make sure to serve it with plenty of napkins!

Feel free to end the night with a milkshake bar instead of a dessert bar. Such a fun idea that will leave a lasting impression on your guests. Milkshake mustache encouraged!

Wedding Wednesday… Illustrative Moments

When planning for your big day, it’s important to remember that it is in fact just that: One day! Everyone tells you to take a step back and soak it all in because it goes so fast. It’s so so true. The more moments you can take in and savor, the better. I love when brides can take little mementos or keepsakes of their wedding and what better way than to have a bridal portrait of your dress?!!! Remember how you felt the first time you slipped into your gorgeous dress? How amazing would it be to capture that feeling in a timeless, one-of-a-kind creative way? So amazing.

I give you Illustrative Moments.

Here’s what the designer, Debi Griffin, has to say about her new venture:

After 13 years of working in couture bridal with Vera Wang and Amsale sketching for clients and bridal publications, I have decided to make this modern keepsake available to every bride. Illustrative Moments takes a fashionable memory and turns it into a timeless piece of art and the new go-to gift, even more so the ULTIMATE first anniversary gift of paper. Perfect for any occasion – Bridal shower, Wedding, Anniversary, Valentines, Birthday, Christmas, or just because. Gift Certificates are also available as well as optional custom work such as illustrations for paper goods etc. The illustration is rendered in a high fashion style that will take on characteristics such as hair color/style and jewelry but is not meant to be an exact portrait. The chosen pose is decided by the dress and all highlighted details creating a flattering composition. Each piece is done with much attention to detail and is created in colored pencil, colored marker, ink, and metallic pens and placed in a silk white mat with backer board ready to frame inside a clear sleeve.

Seriously, how beautiful are these? I dare you to go ahead and take Debi’s idea and treat the bride in your life (or yourself!) to one of these gorgeous illustrations! Head to Illustrative Moments for more info and to check out her portfolio.

Wedding Wednesday… Whimsical Paper Flowers

I love when a bride and groom don’t take their wedding too seriously and add a little fun and whimsy to their details. How amazing are these giant paper flowers? I love the idea of creating (hello, DIY night with your ladies!) flowers for your wedding that are not only show stoppers but are also easy to keep after the wedding.
