Continuing with the “April Showers Bring May Flowers” theme this week, let’s talk about how great this theme would be for a bridal shower! I’ve seen this done several times and have loved the different interpretation at each event. Using cute little umbrellas in your drinks and on the table is the kind of detail that adds just enough pizzazz without going over the top. I love the idea of handing out potted plants as favors. And if I were the bride, I just might sport a cute sundress and some adorable bright wellies! A bridal shower is the perfect event to run with a theme and this one is sure to brighten even the heaviest of rain showers!

We always love a good excuse to visit Chamard Vineyards and design a festive event, so we were absolutely thrilled to be a part of Chris and Alyson’s wonderful engagement dinner in February.  Guests were treated to a candlelit dinner in the wine cellar with delicious food by Gourmet Galley and gorgeous floral arrangements by the talented Hana Floral Design. The wine cellar’s intimate space was the perfect environment to toast to the happy couple’s engagement! Congrats to Chris and Alyson on a fabulous party and an even better November 3rd wedding!

Recently I was invited to a summer rooftop party in NYC with some of the most talented people in the industry.  It was an intimate dinner party amongst friends and colleagues hosted by Frank Alexander, one of the most inspiring, passionate designers I have ever met.  His work always pushes me to want to be better and he is the kind of person you meet once and hope that you will get the opportunity to cross paths with again.  It was such a treat to be a guest at such a special event in the city, when usually I am the one orchestrating the details, it was fun to be able to sit back and enjoy a truly memorable, absolutely perfect evening, on one of the nicest nights we have had this summer.

The table that Frank and his team created was full of color and detail and really set the tone for an incredible affair.  I would love to see this table design recreated for a rehearsal dinner, brunch or intimate dinner party.  The color palette is perfection!

While everyone is buzzing this morning about their top picks from the Oscar’s last night, I thought I would leave it to them to recap the best and worst in fashion and share with you all a few teaser pics from the Winemaker’s dinner at Jonathan Edward’s Winery on Saturday night.  We can’t wait to share with you a full recap of the event this week but for now on this rainy Monday, as I am still dreaming of being on the beaches of Puerto Rico, I’ll leave you with a little sunshine to start the week.
