I am jumping for joy that Emerald is Pantone’s new “it” color of 2013 and can’t wait to see how brides use it in their weddings. I am loving the deep Emerald hue mixed with an electric pop of color like limoncello, perfect for any wedding. I would especially love this color combo at home, accented with some rustic gold accessories and warm textures. Perhaps I should start collecting some Emerald and limoncello items so I am all set when I have a home of my own to decorate to my heart’s content!

I love a good DIY and love it even more when it’s easy! Here is a great DIY to jazz up a lounge area!

1. Find a cheap sequin dress or skirt(here are a few I found 1,2,3)

2. Cut the top of the dress off, turn it inside out and sew up on one side (The skirt on the dress was completely lined and already sewn to the perfect width for an accent pillow.)

3  Fill with batting or stuffing

4. Hand-stitch the bottom edge of the pillow

By now you may have hear the buzz about Lovesick, but if you haven’t, gather ’round folks, it’s something you’re not going to want to miss! Lovesick is a wedding event for anyone getting married and local wedding pros alike who are tired of the usual wedding expo feel. It’s an event filled with eco-friendly designers and ideas, hand-crafted goodies and designs, and local wedding talent galore! There will be delicious bites, yummy sips, tons of entertainment (featuring the Boston Circus Guild) and filled to the brim with creative ideas and wedding inspiration. Basically it’s one big party you’re going to want to make sure is on your calendar. January 20th, EpiCenter at Artists for Humanity in Boston. Make sure to get your tickets and be there!

And the best part?

True Event will be there, featuring some of the raddest creatives! Paper Moss will have gorgeous letterpress invitations just begging you to touch and Petal Floral will showcase her gorgeous bohemian style florals, perfect for the romantic at heart. Our space will feature a vintage modern theme, complete with a vintage lounge from Sassafras Vintage Rentals. Touches of black, white, gold and emerald will help to make our festive space come to life. We’ll even have a little DIY area to help you get creative and your hands dirty! We can’t wait! I am so excited Pantone chose “Emerald” as the color of the year for 2013. I think it’s a beautiful color that looks great on everyone and is such a wonderful hue to add to your decor, wardrobe or wedding palette! Emerald is such a gorgeous color, rich in strength and luxury, which makes it perfect for any wedding! I can’t wait to see if brides embrace this hue and see how they use it in their wedding decor, attire and flowers! Bring on 2013!
