Wedding Wednesday…Winter Wedding!

via Pinterest

Winter is sneaking up on us and not slowly either. “Wedding Season” is over but that doesn’t mean there aren’t a group of winter and fall weddings being held at venues across New England. Just give me a reason to wear a phenomenal dress with sleeves. There is something pretty magical about getting married in the snow or in the midst of the holiday season.  One thing I think is a must when it comes to a Christmas wedding is to avoid cliches and typical “winter” decor. I love the thought of moody colors, organic touches and velvetty textures.  I pulled some of my very favorite winter inspiration. This search was enough to convince me that an off season, winter wedding is the way to go.  The cold never bothered me anyway.

Inspiration from Anywhere…The Modest Bride Trend!

A couple weeks ago, Nicky Hilton tied the knot. Her ultimate fairy tale wedding took place in England where Prince William and Kate live. So immediately, you already know this wedding is THE wedding of 2015, only challenged by George and Amal.  Besides the location, the other stand out feature was Nicky’s dress.  It was gorgeous, demure, classy and a leading trend for brides in 2015/2016, know as “The Modest Bride”.  A dress that covers up more than we’ve seen in the past, most likely brought on by Princess Kate’s dress she wore when she married Prince William in 2011. I am personally loving this trend. I’m a huge fan of the sleeve or illusion neckline. Girls, there is more out there besides a strapless dress, PLEASE BELIEVE ME and thank me later. Now, I wonder if Paris will be a “Modest Bride” when the time comes??? That may be a different story.

Coffee Talk Monday…Study at Yale Penthouse Lounge!

Last week I was lucky enough to attend a luncheon for the redesigned Pentouse Lounge at the Study at Yale in New Haven CT. This space doesn’t seem to disappointment with the unique decor and lovely views of Yale! We can’t wait to plan a special event at this new designed space!

The Grand Exit of a wedding has quickly become a focal point for brides when they are planning.  Flowers petals, confetti, sparklers, old fashion rice, the list of options to choose from are endless and fun.  Often times your venue will have restrictions on what they will and will not allow. If you’re venue happens to allow confetti, my personal fav, you next question is how to pass this out among your guests to keep it moving and organized.  These DIY Confetti poppers from Style Me Pretty are just the thing.  Fun, easy and carries a big impact.  Follow this easy DIY and have the exit for your dreams.
