Friday Wine Tasting…Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro Wine!

Wine of the Week:

Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro Wine

Winemakers Notes:

Lambrusco is not part of the upper echelon of Italian wine. To begin with, it is not expensive. Also, it doesn’t come from Tuscany or Piedmont or any of the well know wine-producing regions of Italy. It comes from Emilia-Romagna. And then there’s the fact that it’s red and sparking. Actually, foaming is closer to the truth. When you open a bottle of this ’boutique’ Lambrusuco (Frasparossa is the particular type of the Lambrusco grape, and Castelvetro is the region from which it hails), it really does foam in your glass, a big purple expanse of bubbles. But then it settles down a bit and, in the presence of a big plate of pasta with meat sauce (Bolognese) or a pizza or even a ham and cheese sandwich, it can even become a little elegant, but mostly it’s just plain delicious. The grapes are estate grown, and fermented into a dry red base wine; three or four times a year batches of the base wine are re-fermented in pressurized tanks to add sparkle. The wine is bottled in a Champagne-style bottle with a traditional sparkling wine cork. A wine to be drunk, not talked about.

Inspiration from Anywhere…JLo’s Moody Fake Wedding!

via Pinterest

The minute I saw JLo’s Oscar dress I thought, woah bring that deep V up a bit, okay maybe a lot, and that is one stunner of a wedding gown.  I’m a huge fan of a blush gown, I’m almost anti white wedding dresses (gasp).  Her Elie Saab gown was ethereal, soft and full of drama, a winning combo.  Of course I had to play this out, pretend I was celebrity event planner Mindy Weiss and create a fake moody JLo wedding and I have to admit, I fell in love with designing a Jenny from the Block wedding. Now, I just need JLO to sign off and all my fake celebrity wedding guests to show up. #eventgoals

Tuesday Shoesday…JOE’S!

via Piperlime

Get me to sunshine or at least somewhere I can see the green grass.  On the news, they’re saying New England won’t be fully thawed out until May, cue my breakdown.  To hold me over I have to dream of spring everything, starting with these JOE’S rebas from Piperlime! I adore the bright papaya contrast stitching. Easily paired with most any outfit, these Rebas are a Spring and Summer must!
