Friday Wine Tasting… A glass of summer

Wine of the Week…

Chasing Venus Sauvignon Blanc

$14

My mother in law recently introduced me to this wine and brought us up a bottle from the Outerbanks over Christmas.  It is a really yummy Sauvignon Blanc, even better I think than one of my other favorites Kim Crawford.  With all of the red wine over the holidays, this is a refreshing change.  It reminds me of a warm summer day, relaxing on the deck, which is always a welcomed feeling this time of year.  This week of bitter cold temps in the North East has reminded me that the winter has only just begun.  So tonight in front of the fire, I am going to pretend it is July and enjoy a delicious glass of chasing venus and think warm, sunny thoughts!!

Happy Friday Everyone!  Cheers!

Inspiration from Anywhere… Flecks of Gold

Just because all the left over confetti from New Year’s is cleaned up (well, hopefully), doesn’t mean you can’t incorporate a little bit into your winter. I love the simple detail of adding little flecks of gold, or any metallic for that matter, into your day. A little sparkle goes a long way and really warms up those chilly months ahead!

Wedding Wednesday…Dresser Details

One of the details that has been stuck in my mind lately has been the use of dressers as dessert tables. I love how versatile and eye catching the display can be and it’s always a conversation starter with your guests.

One of the really fun bonuses of using a dresser is incorporating the use of the drawers in the design. Open them up! Fill them up with flowers, confetti, streamers, or make them extra functional by using them to store and display the plates and napkins.

You can drape pretty linens over the drawers to add a little vintage flair to the dessert display or leave them bare for a more rustic look. Or how fun would it be to have a candy buffet and use the drawers to hold the different kinds of sweets? Whatever your dessert desire, using a dresser and it’s drawers can be an incredibly fun and creative detail for your big day!

Tuesday Shoesday… Something Blue

Via Mugnai

It was love at first sight when I came across these Italian beauties. What is it about a pretty little bow mixed with a pop of color that makes the heart skip a beat? These would be perfect for your “something blue” on your wedding day! Who doesn’t love a little surprise peaking out below a gorgeous gown? The vibrant turquoise is a fun color for any attire, whether it’s your special day or just another Monday!
