Wedding Wednesday… Sparkly Details

Winter weddings are some of the most magical weddings of the year. Today, we’re sharing some sparkly details we’ve been loving for winter brides or really any bride who wants to bring a little sparkle into their big day.

Adding a dazzling bolero or shrug to your bridal ensemble is the perfect festive touch. If you want to share the love, think about giving each of your bridesmaids a pretty sparkly pashmina to drape around their shoulders for the chilly night.

A gorgeous sparkly clutch or pair of shoes peeking out below your dress set the mood for a glitzy evening!

Think about adding a little glitter to those unexpected places. Menus, centerpieces or even little lanterns greeting your guests during the cocktail reception can be dressed up with a little surprise pizzazz.

Gold flecks sprinkled on top of chocolate gnache for your wedding cake? Why not? Or, try making these adorable glittery initials for your cake topper!

Who wouldn’t fall in love with this little banner? So easy to make and adds such a personal and whimsical touch to any wedding. Think about making several different banners and using them in the centerpieces!

I’m off to find something to add a little sparkle to in my life…care to join?

Tuesday Shoesday… Winter Yellow

via Neiman Marcus

These were not marked down for Black Friday nor Cyber Monday (oh, you betcha I checked) so if we just ignore the price, can we agree these bright beauties are pretty amazing? And who said you can’t wear yellow pumps during the winter? These would make me so happy peaking out under a long cream colored wool coat in the middle of a snow storm. Perhaps not the most practical shoe for a snowstorm, but you would be easy to notice! Or pair them with a beautiful navy dress to make a statement at your holiday party. Maybe there will be an after Christmas sale…

Coffee Talk Monday… Thanksgiving Recap

Thanksgiving, always my favorite holiday of the year, did not disappoint this year.  With mild fall weather here in CT, surrounded by family, and friends, lots of delicious food and wine, there was just so much to be thankful for.  Keeping the design on the table simple, the day before Thanksgiving I went out into the woods to see what I could find, hitting the jackpot as I walked down the path from our neighborhood into the woods I found tons of bittersweet, some foliage still left on the trees and gathered up some evergreen branches.  It really is amazing what you can find in the woods when you live in the suburbs.  I was happy with my collection of berries and branches but still needed a few flowers so I picked up a pre-made bouquet at Stop and Shop and took it apart to add to a bigger centerpiece.

I always have so much fun decorating for the holidays so as I share with you our Thanksgiving table, the house has already been transformed for Christmas.  Would love to know what you all are doing for your holiday decorating this year.

Inspiration from Anywhere… Thankful

We have so much to be thankful for this year and are taking today to reflect on the wonderful memories we’ve had and still have yet to come! As we stuff our faces full of mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie today, we are thinking of everyone who has made this past year so amazing – our friends, family, and you! So here’s to a day filled with so much to be thankful for – cheers!
