Inspiration from Anywhere… Boston

Well there has been alot of buzz lately about my potential move to Boston and yes the rumors are true.  But we are not moving out of Connecticut just growing.  We are so lucky to have spaces in both Massachusetts and Connecticut, recently signing the lease for a small apartment in the Back Bay area of Boston.  There are so many exciting things to come for True Event over the next year, as we expand with a second location in Boston, stay tuned for details as we are continue our search for the perfect studio space.  But when we do you will all be invited to a huge bash/open house to help us toast the new venture!

Since I have been searching alot lately for new stuff for the apartment I thought I would share with you my pinterest board from this week, titled Boston Apt. to give you a sneak peek into my design vision for our new place.

Wedding Wednesday… Kelly & Tommy’s Ocean House Wedding

About the wedding: Kelly & Tommy’s wedding was truly a memorable weekend in Watch Hill, Rhode Island at the Ocean House.  Beginning with a Friday night Lobster bake, guests were invited to a taste of New England, with clam chowder, mussels, steamed lobsters and corn on the cob.  We used a mix of navy stripe linens as an overlay, contrasting with natural burlap underneath, and brought in some color with bold pops of yellow in the arrangements on the table that were clusters of sunflowers.  It was the perfect way to kick off the weekend with their closest friends and family.

The wedding day began with an early afternoon ceremony at the Watch Hill Chapel, where guests were invited into an intimate ceremony.  Transitioning from the Chapel to the South Lawn we set up a big tent for the pre-cocktail hour, where guests mingled on one of the most gorgeous summer days.  We worked with Ryan Designs to create small vignettes of furniture with accenting pillows, guests were treated to Dell’s Lemonade, prosecco, and cheese and fruit, while taking a turn at learning how to play croquette with the Ocean House’s pro.  This was only the beginning of what truly would be a memorable evening as the reception continued to the back deck and ballroom at the Ocean House.  Having the opportunity to work at the Ocean House on a number of events this season, I truly fell in love with it all over again.  It is one of the most unique properties on the east coast and the staff is absolutely amazing!!  They helped to make this weekend, one I am sure guests are still talking about.

During the reception guests grazed amongst many incredible food stations, danced to one of Vermont’s most talented bands, and enjoyed freshly rolled cigars with a monogrammed label by the Boston Cigar Factory.

Working with Stoneblossom we designed a coastal inspired, romantic, New England wedding that incorporated soft blush and pink tones with creamy natural linens and navy and white accents.  Emily from Paper Moss helped to carry through the details in all of the paper accents that really personalized the event to perfection.  And we couldn’t have been more thrilled to have the opportunity to meet and work with Mellisa and Miles Witt Boyer who really captured the day better than I ever could have imagined.  We spent so much time thinking through all of the details and they didn’t miss a thing.

From the minute I met Kelly and her mom I knew we were going to have a blast.  I couldn’t imagine working with a nicer family.  It truly warmed my heart to be a part of such a special weekend for them all and am super excited to share their story with you in these pictures.

Tuesday Shoesday… The Love of Wedges continues

Meteour, Steven by Steve Madden

You all know how much I love the idea of a great wedge, comfort and height all in one, they are perfection! Even though it hasn’t felt much like fall here in Connecticut I am ready to transition from my fabulous yellow wedge sandals into a hot pair of wedge boots.  I had a pair almost exactly like these last year and practically wore them into the ground I loved them so much.  They are so comfortable and absolutely adorable with skinny jeans, leggings, or a sweater dress!  Come on fall!

Coffee Talk Monday… On the cover

We were so thrilled to receive our copies of the latest issue of Southern New England’s, Destination Edition because Kelly & Tommy’s wedding (one of our couples) is on the cover, shot by the incredible husband and wife duo Melissa and Miles Witt Boyer (all the way from Arkansas), at the Ocean House in Rhode Island. I feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to work with these guys as they captured to perfection one of our favorite weddings this summer. Having the chance to work with such an amazing group of vendors and two absolutely incredible families makes me feel so lucky that I get to do what I do. If you don’t know about these guys you must check out their website! Stay tuned for Kelly & Tommy’s full wedding and details featured on Wedding Wednesday this week.
